BorschtFest is Chicago’s celebration of Eastern European and Slavic culinary arts and culture! Hosted by Saint George Cathedral at 917 N Wood Street, in collaboration with ORPR Camp, we heartily invite you to participate in the borscht cookoff, either by preparing a soup or by sampling the myriad of entries! The winner of Chicago’s Best Borscht for 2025 will be determined by popular vote. The entertainment program features authentic Georgian choral folk-music by Ensemble Alioni, Slavic songs by the Ivushki Choir,
poetry readings, and mesmerizing sword dances!
All proceeds from BORSCHTFEST! 2025 will benefit the current Seminarians of the Diocese of the Midwest, Orthodox Church in America. These talented students – and their families – have willingly chosen a life of self-sacrifice in order to prepare themselves to be future pastors in the church.
Come sample the mouthwatering cuisine, enjoy the stellar entertainment, and know that your contribution will make a positive impact
in the lives of future clergy!
