Alioni -- our continuing performing ensemble.  We were founded in 2008 out of love and dedication to Georgian folk singing.  We have performed at the Chicago World Music Festival, the Evanston Ethnic Arts Festival, the Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival, the Museum of Science and Industry's "Christmas Around the World" series, and for academic gatherings at DePaul University and the University of Chicago.

For ensemble membership inquiries email us at alioni.ch[email protected].  There is an expectation that singers can match pitch and hold an independent part. We ask a commitment to regular rehearsal attendance and performances.  Rehearsals are scheduled on some Saturdays in the late-morning/early-afternoon during our performance season in the DePaul or Logan Square neighborhoods in Chicago. Megobrebi  (Georgian for: friends)  is a Georgian singing workshop group with no continuing commitment or prior experience required.  We gather once or twice a year on a weekend afternoon to enjoy a potluck buffet of food, visiting with singing friends and learning a few Georgian songs, usually by ear.  Admission is always free, please bring some food or beverages to share.
